Ad Hoc Committee – a committee of the Council formed to address a specific issue or problem, to be disbanded upon resolution of the issue or problem.
BABCNC – the Bel Air-Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council of the City of Los Angeles, California.
Chair – the person elected or appointed to head a committee of the Council and to run its scheduled meetings.
Conflicts of Interest – the conflicts of interest laws that govern the conduct of each Representative and Association in their capacity as Council Member.
Council – the Bel Air-Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council of the City of Los Angeles, California.
Educational Institutions – those institutions of learning, public or privately supported, whether non-sectarian or religious based.
Ethics Laws – the laws and canons of ethics to which the Council is subject, including, but not limited to the City’s Governmental Ethics Ordinance.
Employee Associations – a group of individuals who are employed within the territorial boundaries of the Council and who are specifically identifiable by their membership to particular union, or within the employ of a particular employer or group of employers whose facilities are within the Council’s territorial boundaries.
Faith-Based Institutions – the institutions whose facilities are located within the territorial boundaries of the BABCNC and whose mission is to serve the religious needs of the community both within and without the boundaries of the BABCNC.
Member-at-Large – an individual Representative to the Council who has been elected by the community as a whole to represent stakeholders not represented in the BABCNC by any other stakeholder group.
Member – a Stakeholder Group or Member-at-Large with one or more seats on the Council.
Stakeholder – any individual who lives, works or owns property within the territorial boundaries of the BABCNC and who is at least 18 years of age.
Stakeholder Group – individually or severally each of the homeowner associations or groups, business enterprises, educational or faith-based institutions and Members-at-Large, with one or more seat(s) on the Council.
Standing Committee – regular committees of the BABCNC.
