Born and raised in Los Angeles. I grew up in the hillsides of West Los Angeles and have always liked living here. My wife and I have lived on San Ysidro for more than 50 years. We have always been fascinated with the wildlife in the Santa Monica Mountains. I remember when we saw deer, cayote, racoon an occasional bobcat and other wild animals that roamed the mountains regularly, but today they are rarely seen. Their natural habitats are diminishing due to developers and owners who want to build mega-mansions in the hillsides that do not belong here, and are totally out of character of their neighborhoods. My interest is in sensible land use, which is also key to the Santa Monica Mountains' success and survival.
