Born and raised in Burlington, Vermont, Tim Steele moved to Los Angeles in 1977, and he and his wife have lived in upper Beverly Glen for over 20 years. An emeritus professor of English at Cal State L.A., he has published several collections of verse as well as two books about poetry and literary history. His interests include the preservation of native flora and fauna in the hillside communities in Council Districts 4 and 5 and in the larger Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
